J-Cut Editing

Essentially, a j-cut pulls audio from your next scene into a transition before the current scene ends. You’re introducing the sound of the next scene a few moments before the current scene ends. You can read much more about the history and use of j-cuts and l-cuts here.

There are two really effective ways to use this transition. The first method takes the raw recorded audio from your scene and fades it in over another. The second method involves creating and using sound effects.
