DaVinci Resolve Studio + Lite (Dual Installation)
Remembering to carry your USB dongle to activate DaVinci Studio between multiple locations can get a bit tedious. Did you know that you can have Studio + Lite installed at the same time?
Here’s how you do it.
- Download and Install DaVinci Studio from the Blackmagic website
- Once installed, rename the Application to something like DaVinci Resolve Studio.
By default it installs as DaVinci Resolve - Download and Install DaVinci Resolve, and rename it to DaVinci Resolve Lite.
Caveats
- I only tested this on our studio Macs.
- Rename the Application not just the folder [see image below]
- Update both Lite and Studio at the same time [more info on this process here]
