Log for More Image Control

There’s more than one log used in the editing bay and that doesn’t include the fireplace logs of a high-end Swedish post-production boutique. No Hygge here, instead it’s a rich texture of color brought about by mathematical gymnastics, the log recording feature found on many cameras, and the skilled hand of an astute editor. Untouched log footage doesn’t look quite right, but with a basic understanding an editor can weave together a rich tapestry of color.
